Quick Start
Generate your first 3D model in minutes — using an image or a text prompt — then export it for any creative workflow.
TL;DR
- Sign up and get free credits immediately — no credit card required.
- The fastest path: upload an image to Image to 3D — get a 3D model in under 2 minutes.
- Text to 3D works best when you don't have a reference image — describe in natural language.
- 3D Agent lets you brainstorm and create through a chat conversation.
- Post-processing pipeline: AI Texturing → Remesh → Rigging → Export.
- All generated results are saved in My Models for download and further editing.
When to Use This Guide
- You just signed up for Meshy and want to experience the core features quickly.
- You want to learn the shortest path from "input" to "usable 3D asset."
When NOT to use this guide: If you need API integration, see the API Quick Start. If you prefer a conversational workflow, go to 3D Agent.
Step-by-Step: Your First 3D Model
-
Create your account — Visit meshy.ai and sign up with Google or email. You'll receive free credits upon registration.
-
Choose your generation method
- Image to 3D (recommended for beginners): Click "Image to 3D" in the left sidebar. Upload a clear photo or concept art of your subject. Select Meshy 6 as the model.
- Text to 3D: Click "Text to 3D" in the left sidebar. Describe your object in detail (e.g., "a medieval wooden treasure chest with iron bands and a rusty padlock").
- 3D Agent: Click "3D Agent" to start a conversation. Describe what you want to create, and the agent will guide you through brainstorming, concept generation, and 3D output.
-
Configure and generate — Select output quality (Standard or Low Poly), enable Image Enhancement if your input image quality is low, and click "Generate." Generation takes approximately 1–2 minutes with Meshy 6.
-
Review your result — The 3D viewer lets you rotate, zoom, and inspect your model from all angles. Check mesh quality, texture detail, and overall accuracy.
-
Post-process (optional)
- AI Texturing: Re-texture your model with different styles or generate PBR maps.
- Remesh: Optimize polygon count for your target platform (game engine, 3D printing, etc.).
- Rigging: Auto-rig humanoid or quadruped models for animation.
-
Export — Click "Download" and select your desired format: GLB for web/AR, FBX for game engines, STL for 3D printing, OBJ for DCC tools.
Examples
Success Example: A clear front-facing photo of a ceramic mug → Meshy 6, Standard quality → Clean mesh with accurate handle, smooth surface, PBR textures applied.
Common Pitfall: A blurry, low-contrast photo with complex background → Generated model captures background noise, distorted geometry. Fix: Use AI Background Removal first, or provide a cleaner input image.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Generation stuck at 0% | Server queue full | Wait 1–2 minutes and retry; check status.meshy.ai |
| Model has holes/missing parts | Input image shows only partial view | Use multi-view images or provide additional angles |
| Textures look blurry | Low-res input image | Enable Image Enhancement or provide a higher-res image |
| Export file is empty | Generation did not complete | Re-generate and wait for "Complete" status before export |
